In an exclusive interview, Fyodor Lukyanov, Research Director of the Valdai International Discussion Club and the Chairman of the Presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, pointed out that the defining feature of China-Russia relations today is "stability." High-level interactions between the two countries have become so frequent that there is no longer any need to deliberately create "special moments." Behind this stability lie centuries of geographical proximity and historical ties, as well as the realities shaped by today's changing international landscape. As Russia's political, economic, and energy ties with Europe continue to be cut off, China's importance to Russia is rapidly increasing. And for both China and Russia, their relationship has long gone beyond a simple transactional partnership. Geographic proximity, historical interaction, industrial complementarity, and a shared perception of shifts in the global order are making bilateral ties increasingly close.
