Ukraine carried out a large-scale long-range operation targeting the Moscow region on Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a video statement, adding that the operation involved strikes at a distance of more than 500 kilometers. He described the strikes as a response to Russia's continued attacks on Ukraine and said Ukrainian long-range capabilities were overcoming Russia's air defenses. Russian officials said Ukrainian drones struck Moscow and surrounding areas, causing casualties and damage. The Russian Defense Ministry said hundreds of drones were intercepted.
