China has fulfilled its commitment of having 300 million people engage in winter sports after the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Ice hockey is becoming one of the sports receiving strong international support – including from the NHL and Washington Capitals superstar Alex Ovechkin. The Russian hockey star believes that boosted by the legacy of the Beijing Winter Olympics, ice hockey will continue to gain popularity among younger generations in China.
