Inbound tourism is on the rise in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province ahead of China Tourism Day on May 19, driven by visa-free travel policies between China and Russia.

Passenger traffic at border ports has continued to increase, with cross-border trips becoming increasingly common. In Heihe City alone, border authorities recorded 360,000 inbound and outbound trips so far in 2026 – an 80% increase year on year.
