Museums uniting a divided world: One artifact across time, one cultural thread connecting China and rest of the world

Coinciding with International Museum Day, Moataz Abdellah, an Egyptian teacher from Jilin International Studies University, and MIMOZA, a French intern from Jilin Agricultural University, paid a visit to the Ji'an Museum to explore Gaogouli culture. As China's only museum dedicated exclusively to Gaogouli history and culture, it houses a wealth of cultural relics that reflect the splendid heritage of ancient ethnic groups in China's northeastern borderlands. The group stopped to study inscriptions and admire ancient ornaments, discovering that the lotus patterns prevalent in Gaogouli culture share similar connotations with the lotus culture of ancient Egypt. A single flower links two lands, and a single artifact spans past and present. With museums acting as cultural bridges, people transcend geographical boundaries and time to witness the resonance of diverse civilizations and engage in a cross-border dialogue across mountains and seas.
