At Changdu Experimental Primary School in Xizang, CGTN reporter A Li saw recess like never before – a national intangible cultural heritage. Over a thousand children fill the playground, dancing the graceful Xianzi Dance instead of regular calisthenics.
Accompanied by the beautiful, soaring melodies of string instruments, the entire school moves together in a stunning, synchronized performance.
Since 2019, a team of dedicated teachers from Tianjin has been supporting the school. They've introduced exciting new programs: a drone club, Xizang’s first handball team, and a full-time psychologist. Classes have become more dynamic, and the children are more confident and expressive than ever.
Yet the most moving sight remains the same – hundreds of children dancing the Xianzi together on the playground under the vast Xizang's sky.
Welcome to Changdu, Xizang – come and witness the most beautiful recess activity on the snowy plateau.
