In Lhasa, the capital of China's Xizang Autonomous Region, barren slopes are turning green. Since 2018, workers at elevations above four thousand meters have planted more than 55 million trees across the city's northern and southern mountains. In the thin air and rocky terrain, every sapling is hard-won. The goal: transform Lhasa into a city embraced by forests.
