Tangra Yumco is one of only five sacred "Yumco" lakes in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region. Locally, "Yum" symbolizes the turquoise blue hue and "Co" means lake. With a depth of 230 meters, Tangra Yumco ranks as China's second-deepest lake. Nestled among snow-capped peaks towering over 6,000 meters, it epitomizes the classic "Holy Mountain-Sacred Lake" landscape. Its shores are dotted with the ruins of the ancient Zhangzhung Kingdom and temples adorned with millennia-old murals. On the 75th anniversary of Xizang's peaceful liberation, join CGTN's livestream to witness how this sacred turquoise embodies the harmony between tradition and modernity, nature and culture.
