Khalil Hashmi, Pakistan's Ambassador to China, attended the film's premiere ceremony held earlier this week in Beijing. "The release of The Legend of Maula Jatt in China comes as Pakistan and China celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, showcasing the win-win cooperation between our film industries," Hashmi said in his remarks.
Senior China Film Group manager Yang Jian said he hoped that more outstanding Pakistani films would enter the Chinese market. He also called for deeper cooperation between China and Pakistan in areas including film production, technological exchanges and talent development.
Widely regarded as a landmark production in Pakistani cinema, the epic directed by Bilal Lashari has received international attention for its large-scale production, visual effects and revival of a classic folklore.
