At 5,000 meters above sea level, where others see yak dung, one young entrepreneur sees a future.

Born and raised on the grasslands of northern Xizang, Tsering Migyur is turning livestock waste into organic fertilizer, creating jobs, increasing herders' incomes, and helping restore fragile alpine ecosystems.

Some local families now earn thousands of dollars a year by selling yak and sheep dung that once went unused.

But this is more than business. Working with scientists, Migyur hopes to revive degraded grasslands and protect what he calls "Asia's water tower" for future generations.
