The 17-Article Agreement and the liberation of Xizang

May 23, 1951, was a historic day for China. It was when the document popularly known as the "17-Article Agreement" was signed in Beijing by the Central People's Government and the local government of Xizang, confirming Xizang's peaceful liberation.
