CGTN

Editor's note: What if, instead of headlines, you followed an American journalist into Xizang itself? In Xizang Untangled, American comedian and journalist Lee Camp travels across China's Xizang Autonomous Region on an eye-opening journey. From mountain villages and monastic classrooms to fragile wetlands and wildlife sanctuaries, this three-part series challenges long-held assumptions and reveals the lives of real people beyond the headlines. Here comes the third episode: Beyond Beliefs.

Renowned American journalist and comedian Lee Camp travels to Xizang, where at nearly 3,800 meters above sea level, he plays basketball with monks, watches nuns take computer classes, and even tries out the unique hand gestures used in Tibetan Buddhist debate. Confronted with a modern and free Xizang, he can't help but wonder: Why isn't the real Xizang following the Western script? Episode three of Xizang Untangled, titled Beyond Beliefs, is now live. Follow Lee Camp and nun Dolkar as they explore a vibrant, unexpected new Xizang!
