Yang Yuping, founder of Hainan Tenghou Company and an inheritor of bamboo and rattan weaving craftsmanship, has spent the past decade promoting traditional Li ethnic weaving through modern design and cultural exchange in south China's Hainan Province. By blending Chinese and Western aesthetics, she has helped bring the intangible cultural heritage craft into everyday life with products ranging from handbags to home decor. At a tourism promotion event in Hainan in April, Yang introduced rattan weaving to a Serbian delegation through hands-on activities and handmade gifts, saying the craft serves as a bridge between Chinese ethnic culture and global aesthetics.
