Ningxia Qingtongxia Reservoir Wetland Nature Reserve: An oasis of life

Qingtongxia Reservoir Wetland Nature Reserve is the largest Yellow River mudflat-type wetland in northwest China's Ningxia, and home to a wide variety of animal species, with 292 species currently recorded. As an important stopover along the bird migration route, the reserve is exceptionally rich in bird resources, attracting hundreds of thousands of migratory birds each year and earning it the title of "the 2nd largest bird island in northwest China." In addition, the reserve is home to dozens of fish species and has successfully introduced the Milu deers and the red-crowned crane.

In recent years, the reserve has frequently witnessed heartening signs of life continuing to thrive. Hundreds of thousands of migratory birds have successfully hatched and raised their young here, and the heartwarming scene of parent birds tending to their young can be seen everywhere. Meanwhile, the introduced Milu deers have also given birth to healthy calves, and the herds are growing steadily as they roam leisurely through the shallows. The entire reservoir wetland is brimming with vitality. Here, biodiversity is not only effectively protected but also presents a vibrant and flourishing scene of life in full bloom.
