Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani discussed the latest regional developments with US President Donald Trump on Saturday, according to a statement by the Emiri Diwan, the administrative office of the emir.

During a phone call, their discussions focused on support for diplomatic efforts led by Pakistan to prevent further tensions in the region and preserve international peace and security, the statement said.

They also stressed the importance of maintaining dialogue channels to address current issues, safeguard maritime security and strategic waterways, and ensure the smooth flow of global energy supplies and supply chains.
