Officials say 82 dead, two missing after Shanxi coal mine gas explosion

Officials in Changzhi City, north China's Shanxi Province, said 82 people have been confirmed dead, and two others remain missing after a gas explosion hit the Liushenyu coal mine in Qinyuan County on Friday evening. Another 128 people were hospitalized, including two in critical condition and two in serious condition. Authorities said search-and-rescue operations are continuing, while the company involved had been found to have made serious violations of laws and regulations.
