China's Shenzhou-23 mission has successfully reached the Tiangong space station, carrying nine key scientific experiments. For the first time, the space station will test advanced perovskite solar cells in real space conditions. The experiment includes single-junction and tandem perovskite devices developed by Chinese researchers. Unlike energy-storage batteries, these cutting-edge cells can directly convert sunlight into electricity. This on-orbit dynamic experiment will test their performance in space, paving the way for next-generation lightweight space power technology.
