China has expressed deep concern over Japan's newly approved intelligence overhaul, urging Japan to learn from history and act with prudence, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said at a regular press briefing in Beijing on Thursday.

Mao made the remarks in response to a media query regarding a law enacted by the Japanese parliament on Wednesday, establishing a national intelligence council and a national intelligence bureau.
