A grand gala marking the 120th anniversary of Yueju Opera will be held in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province. Taking water as its spiritual thread and visual motif, the gala unfolds along the artistic evolution of Yueju Opera's rise, spread, and innovation. Nearly one hundred inheritors of the operatic tradition have been invited, covering all thirteen major genres of Yueju Opera. Renowned artists and emerging talents from the older, middle and younger generations will perform classic Yueju Opera pieces from different eras, symbolizing the enduring legacy of Yueju Opera and its sustained vitality in the new era. The gala will be broadcast on Channel CCTV-11 on May 30 and on Channel CCTV-3 on June 6.
