An Israeli strike targeted a residential building in the Choueifat area of Beirut's southern suburbs on Thursday, according to Lebanon's local television channel NBN.

Choueifat is close to Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport.

The Israeli military also confirmed launching a strike on Beirut, but has not specified its target.

The attack is the first of its kind on Beirut's southern suburbs in weeks.

Earlier in the day, the Israeli military said in a statement that it struck more than 135 Hezbollah targets across Lebanon over the past day, as Israel has ramped up its military operations in the country.
