Final section of new 1.5-km bridge over Yangtze River installed

The final section of a bridge over the Yangtze River in southwest China, along the Chongqing-Wanzhou high-speed railway, was installed on Wednesday. The Shituo Yangtze River Bridge is one of 149 bridges along the 251-kilometer railway, which is designed for speeds of up to 350 km/h. Once operational, travel time between Chongqing and Wanzhou will be reduced to under one hour. The bridge stretches 1,416.9 meters in length, with a 608-meter main span and 253-meter high main towers.
