Zongzi is a classic glutinous rice delicacy enjoyed during China's Dragon Boat Festival. To celebrate the upcoming holiday, Sinan County in southwest China's Guizhou Province, a region renowned for high-quality matcha, has launched creative matcha-flavored zongzi, which has quickly emerged as a popular seasonal snack.

High-quality ingredients are essential to making authentic matcha zongzi. Workers select fresh, flexible bamboo leaves and premium local glutinous rice. They carefully mix the rice with finely ground matcha powder sourced from local tea gardens, turning the grains into a vibrant green and infusing the dumplings with a rich, lingering tea aroma.

The specialty matcha zongzi is sold both online and in stores. It is available in local supermarkets and physical stores, while e-commerce platforms help expand its reach. The popular festive snack has been sent to major cities and regions in China including Guiyang, Chongqing and Guangdong, seeing a steadily growing market demand.
