Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets, a principle now central to China's environmental governance. That vision is on clear display along the Lijiang River in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Once under pressure from quarrying, pollution and rapid development, it has become a benchmark case of integrated watershed restoration in the country.
