After a herder in Shawan City, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, discovered a wild Pallas's cat giving birth at home and called police for help, local officers adopted a "zero-intervention" approach.
They quietly watched over the mother and her cubs for 40 days, allowing the family to safely return to the wild.
