During the 7th China-CEEC Local Leaders' Meeting and the 2026 Shandong International Friendship Cities Cooperation in Jinan, east China's Shandong Province, Lucia Škvareninová, economic counselor at the Embassy of Slovakia in China, sat down with CGTN to share her views on deepening ties between Slovakia and China, with a particular focus on local-level cooperation and young people.
On what makes Slovakia attractive to young Chinese travelers and students, Škvareninová highlighted the country's natural beauty, over 200 castles, and growing reputation as a very safe destination.
The economic counselor also pointed to concrete cooperation opportunities in the automotive sector, particularly electric vehicles. "China is a global leader in e-mobility,” she said.
