The Shanghai Sharks moved to within one win of ending a 24-year championship drought after crushing the Guangsha Lions 110-77 in Game 3 of the CBA Finals on Sunday, taking a commanding 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

With Game 4 set for Tuesday in Zhejiang, Shanghai now has its first opportunity to secure the club's first league title since the 2001-02 season.

The visitors started strongly and matched Guangsha's firepower throughout a competitive first half. While the defending champions managed to stay close early on, Shanghai gradually gained control through disciplined defense and efficient scoring.

The turning point came after the break. Shanghai overwhelmed Guangsha in the third quarter, shutting down the hosts' offense while continuing to find success at the other end of the floor. The gap quickly ballooned into an insurmountable margin, leaving the Lions with little hope of a comeback.

Brandon Goodwin once again led the way for Shanghai, posting 28 points and 10 assists. Zhang Zhenlin added 23 points, while Kyle Fogg contributed 22. Li Hongquan recorded a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds as five players from the Sharks hit double figures.

Barry Brown finished with 29 points for Guangsha, but the star guard lacked consistent support as the reigning champions suffered their most lopsided defeat of the Finals.

Despite being without Hassan Whiteside and Kenneth Lofton, Shanghai dominated the battle on the rebound, outrebounding Guangsha 43-27 and repeatedly creating extra possession.

"We did have a better performance in the game. I think that was the result of a stronger desire to win," Shanghai head coach Lu Wei said. "Many players told me this season that they were eager to bring a trophy to Shanghai."

Guangsha now faces the daunting task of winning four straight games to keep its title defense alive. Shanghai, meanwhile, stands on the verge of completing one of the club's most memorable seasons and bringing the championship trophy back home for the first time in more than two decades.
