A team of Chinese doctors has left Beijing for the Democratic Republic of the Congo, answering an urgent call for help. The World Health Organization declared the Ebola outbreak in the country a Public Health Emergency of International Concern in mid-May – its highest alert – and local hospitals are overwhelmed. The Chinese team will work side by side with Congolese medics, combining Western medicine with traditional Chinese medicine to save lives.
