Chinese President Xi Jinping has consistently emphasized enhancing the preservation and utilization of cultural heritage. At the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Yungang Grottoes, Zhou Yuchao is helping put that vision into practice. For more than a decade, he has climbed scaffolding to digitally record the ancient carvings. Once afraid of heights, he is now among a new generation of "digital artisans" working to preserve the grottoes for future generations.
