The Taiwan Affairs Office of China's State Council said on Wednesday that maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait serves the common interests of China and the United States. The spokesperson Zhu Fenglian made the remark following the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore last week where the US Secretary of Defense evaded questions on arms sales to Taiwan. She continued to condemn the so-called "Taiwan-US Defense Industry Forum" held recently on the island of Taiwan.
