Ru Kiln was one of the five major kilns of the Song Dynasty (960-1279). It was named so because its kiln site was located in Ruzhou, Henan Province during the Song era.
The signature celadon glaze of Ru kilns comes from ground agate. Warm and jade-like, it has a celestial hue – bright blue with green undertones – embodying elegance and ethereal clarity. The crackle forms naturally as the glaze contracts, with its fine veins branching out like gentle streams over a quiet landscape.
