Two Iranian missiles fired at Kuwait ‌fell short or broke apart en ‌route, ‌while three missiles launched ‌at Bahrain were ‌intercepted by US and Bahrain forces, the US military said on Tuesday.

The US Central Command ‌added that Iran launched ballistic missiles toward regional neighbors but all failed to hit targets. It also said US forces carried out strikes on Qeshm Island in response ‌to attempted attacks ‌by Iran and defeated multiple Iranian ballistic missiles and drones on Tuesday.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had struck the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain with missiles and drones, Iran's Tasnim news agency reported early Wednesday.

The IRGC stated the attack was in retaliation for a US military strike on an IRGC telecommunications tower south of Qeshm Island.

Earlier on Wednesday, Bahrain's ‌interior ministry said  a ‌warning ‌siren had been ‌sounded and ‌urged citizens and residents to remain calm and head to the ‌nearest safe place. On the same day, the Kuwaiti military said its air defense systems were responding to missile and drone attacks targeting the country.
