China opposes US trade restrictions imposed under pretext of 'forced labor'

China opposes various forms of unilateral restrictive measures, including a series of trade restrictions imposed by the United States on China under the pretext of "forced labor," a Chinese commerce ministry spokesperson said on Thursday.

Speaking at a regular press briefing, spokesperson He Yongqian made the remarks in response to a question regarding a US proposal to impose tariffs on so-called forced-labor economies.

Regarding the Section 301 investigation, He said China's position has been consistent.

China has repeatedly expressed its solemn position on the US trade restrictions imposed under the pretext of "forced labor," He said.

China urges the United States to work with China in the same direction and jointly maintain the stability of China-US economic and trade relations, the spokesperson added.
