China has criticized claims made by the intelligence-sharing network "Five Eyes" as ironic, after the alliance amplified concerns over an alleged China "spy threat." The "Five Eyes" alliance, comprising the US, UK, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, said that Chinese spies are using online job platforms to recruit individuals. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Friday that the "Five Eyes" alliance has long engaged in espionage activities around the world.
