Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Myanmar's Minister for Foreign Affairs Tin Maung Swe in Beijing on Friday as the two countries mark the 76th anniversary of their diplomatic ties this year.

Wang Yi said that with Myanmar's new government taking office this year, China is ready to strengthen high-level exchanges, deepen political mutual trust and strategic cooperation, and support Myanmar's development and revitalization efforts.

Tin Maung Swe reaffirmed Myanmar's commitment to the one-China principle. He said the new government is committed to advancing the Myanmar-China Economic Corridor and will continue efforts to combat online crime and safeguard Chinese interests.
