French shipping firm launches wind-assisted methanol ro-ro in China

French shipping company LD Armateurs launched its second next-generation low-emission ro-ro (roll-on/roll-off) vessel in Wuhan City of central China's Hubei Province on Saturday. Built by Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group, "Spirit of Mobile" is a wind-assisted, methanol dual-fuel ship that uses rotor sails and dual-fuel engines to cut emissions and improve efficiency. It is scheduled for delivery in November and will transport aircraft components on a transatlantic route.
