US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the US would not allow Iranians with ties to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to enter the US for the World Cup. Despite the ongoing conflict, Rubio said the US has "no problem" with Iran's national football team players and support staff entering the World Cup, adding that it was their decision to stay in Mexico. Nevertheless, he added that the US will be watching the team's delegation and its links to the IRGC closely.
