The recently concluded Quad meeting has once again fallen back into the old pattern of forming exclusive blocs and rival camps. What Asia truly needs, however, is stable development, practical cooperation and win-win growth. Although the US, Japan, India and Australia appear to share common goals on the surface, each country is in fact driven by its own calculations and interests behind the scenes. Under such circumstances, does Quad really have staying power?
