A striking "half-clear, half-muddy" spectacle appeared at the Hukou Waterfall on the Yellow River on June 6, as heavy localized rainfall upstream sent sediment-rich torrents down the western side of the falls, while clearer currents flowed over the eastern edge, drawing crowds to witness the rare split cascade.
