Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese president, and his wife Peng Liyuan watched an artistic performance in Pyongyang, the capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), on Monday evening.

Accompanied by Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, and his wife Ri Sol Ju, Xi and Peng received a warm welcome and applause from audiences and artists at the Pyongyang Gymnasium.

Through songs, dances and acrobatics, the artists celebrated Xi's return to the DPRK after seven years and voiced their sincere feelings for further strengthening traditional friendly cooperation between the two countries.
