Loud explosion sounds were heard in the Iranian capital of Tehran on Monday, with the country's air defense systems activated and shooting down a "hostile" drone over Tehran.

The exact location and the origin of the blast were still unknown, Iran's semi-official Fars news agency reported, adding that air defense had been activated in some parts of the city.
