"For truth we hunt" – this is what drives "Fact Hunter," the global verification platform officially launched at the 5th CMG Forum, which opened in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality on Wednesday.
At the morning session of the main forum, China Media Group (CMG) unveiled "Fact Hunter." The platform aims to promote the establishment of an objective, balanced and pluralistic new international media order within the framework of global governance initiatives, and will serve as a hub for cross-industry and cross-border dialogue.
On the afternoon of the same day, during the sub-forum session, international media figures gathered to discuss the challenges posed by disinformation in the AI era, which travels at the speed of light and threatens public trust. The "Fact Hunter" fact-checking team demonstrated how it uses AI to assist human fact-checkers, especially in regard to "Detection," "Verification" and "Traceability."
The launch event of "Fact Hunter" was organized by CMG in collaboration with various media outlets, global think tanks, universities and technology enterprises, with a focus on countries in the Global South, aiming to build trust and connect people in an increasingly interconnected world.
The CMG Forum was held under the overarching theme, "Upholding and Reshaping: The Media's Mission in the Intelligent Era." Discussions also focused on how media can contribute to a more inclusive, trustworthy and dynamic information ecosystem in the age of intelligent technologies.
