The Second World Conference of Classics has gathered scholars from across the world in Athens. Professor Theodoros Papanghelis, a member of the Academy of Athens, argues that while the value of classical traditions is increasingly questioned in parts of the West, China has shown a renewed confidence in their enduring relevance.
