Chinese scientists discover world's deepest whale graveyard with 10 million carcasses

Chinese scientists have made a stunning deep-sea discovery in the southeast Indian Ocean's Diamantina Trench: the world's deepest and largest whale fossil site. More than 10 million whales have rested in the V-shaped seabed valley over the past 5.3 million years. The discovery extends the known depth range of whale falls, offering valuable new clues for marine and ancient whale research.
