Closing the gap between written right to development and real life

At the 2026 Forum on Global Human Rights Governance in Beijing, Issara Sereewatthanawut, the secretary-general of the King Prajadhipok's Institute of the Parliament of Thailand, focused on the 40-year gap since the Declaration on the Right to Development.

Commending China's Global Governance Initiative for pursuing a more just, inclusive world order, he said institutions must serve the people directly. "The Global Governance Initiative is a promise. It is a reminder that the old one still stands and there is still work to do," he said. Tune in.
