Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said on Saturday that his talks with Mongolian Foreign Minister Batmunkh Battsetseg had yielded a broad consensus on bilateral relations and regional cooperation.

Both sides agreed that, amid a turbulent international environment and increasingly complex global challenges, China and Mongolia should stand together through thick and thin and continue working toward building a China-Mongolia community with a shared future characterized by peaceful coexistence, mutual support, and win-win cooperation, Wang told reporters in a joint press conference with Battsetseg.

The two countries reaffirmed their mutual respect for each other's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as their commitment to respecting each other's core interests, major concerns and chosen development paths.

China expressed appreciation for Mongolia's adherence to the one-China principle, its opposition to any form of "Taiwan independence," and its support for China's positions on issues related to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Xinjiang and Xizang.

Wang noted that, according to international institutions, every one-percentage-point increase in China's economic growth contributes to a 4% increase in Mongolia's exports and a 0.6% increase in Mongolia's economic growth. He said this demonstrates the strong complementarity and close economic ties between the two countries.

He added that the second cross-border railway linking China and Mongolia is currently under construction and is expected to become another major corridor for connectivity between the two countries. China, Wang said, remains a trustworthy and reliable partner for Mongolia and will continue to extend support whenever Mongolia needs it most.

Wang noted that modernization is a shared objective for both countries. Looking ahead, the two sides will promote the alignment of the Belt and Road Initiative with Mongolia's Prairie Road development strategy, deepen exchanges on governance experience, explore opportunities for cooperation in emerging sectors, and jointly pursue modernization paths suited to their respective national conditions.

Both China and Mongolia, he said, are constructive forces for global peace, stability and development. The two countries are willing to strengthen coordination in regional and international affairs and work together to safeguard the common interests of developing nations.

The two sides also agreed to uphold the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, safeguard the victorious outcomes of World War II, oppose all forms of fascism and militarism, and reject any words or actions that seek to distort or reverse the course of history.

In addition, both countries agreed to enhance coordination within multilateral frameworks such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation to jointly promote regional stability, development and cooperation.
