A dramatic rescue unfolded in Mengla County, southwest China's Yunnan Province, after heavy rainfall caused river levels to surge. On June 13, a man accidentally slipped and was swept away by the raging torrents while fishing. Fortunately, immigration police officer Tao Guozhu and auxiliary officer Yan Wenxiang, who were conducting a community visit nearby, spotted him. Without hesitation, Tao jumped into the rushing water, swimming against the tide to pull the man to safety. Thanks to their heroic and swift response, the man escaped without serious injury.
