The document was signed digitally by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and his US counterpart, Donald Trump, after plans for an in-person signing ceremony in Switzerland were adjusted. Officials said the move would allow the process to move ahead more quickly, while the Pakistani prime minister said a formal ceremony is still expected to take place on Friday.
The signing is the latest step in ongoing diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran, with a new round of talks scheduled to begin in Switzerland.
