Global Stringer

A magnitude-6.7 earthquake struck Indonesia's Sulawesi island on Tuesday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC). The quake has killed at least one person, injured dozens more and caused damage to homes and infrastructure, according to the National Disaster Management Agency of Indonesia.

Fearing a tsunami, residents in coastal areas fled their homes and shuttered food stalls. Many sought safety in open spaces away from buildings. CGTN Stringer was at the scene.
