US House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries has said on Wednesday that Cape Verde's veteran keeper Vozinha's mother has been granted a visa to enter the US in time for her 40-year-old son's next World Cup match.
Vozinha, who produced a heroic clean sheet against World Cup giants Spain, had said after the match that his mother had been unable to secure a US visa to see him play.
Earlier, a Chinese football fan who visited Vozinha's family in Cape Verde shared videos of his mother and sister celebrating the goalkeeper's World Cup success and preparing gifts for his return.
