The first batch of turbines at the Datang Julongliang wind farm expansion project was connected to the grid on June 19. The project, in Xundian Hui and Yi Autonomous County, Kunming, southwest China's Yunnan Province, features 11.1-megawatt wind turbines, the largest single-unit capacity used in China's plateau mountain wind power projects. Designed for complex high-altitude terrain and changing mountain weather, the turbines are expected to help boost clean power generation in hard-to-build mountainous areas.
